# Snow Peak's Kasuri Ripstop Jacket puts its pockets to work

A useful jacket pocket is one you can find without looking. Having several helps, provided each earns its place.

Snow Peak's **Kasuri Ripstop Jacket** makes storage a large part of its design. Introduced with the brand's [Autumn Winter 2026 collection](https://www.snowpeak.com/blogs/explore/autumn-winter-2026-lookbook?ref=simpl.asia), it puts layered pockets across the front of a hooded, zip-up shape. There is a little more going on in the fabric than the first photograph suggests, too.

## A quiet grid

Kasuri Ripstop is one of the materials Snow Peak identifies as new for this season. The [product description](https://www.snowpeak.com/products/kasuri-ripstop-jacket?ref=simpl.asia) explains that the reinforcing threads take up less dye, leaving a pale grid against the surrounding colour. The result is a small variation in tone that becomes easier to see up close.

The listed composition is 90% nylon and 10% polyester. The jacket comes in Light Blue, Black and Dark Purple. Black is the quieter choice from a distance; the lighter blue makes the texture easier to read. That is a useful distinction if the jacket needs to work with clothes you already own.

## Storage, with some breathing room

Snow Peak pairs a larger main pocket with smaller layers intended to separate what you carry. There is also a two-way zip, adjustment at the hood and hem, and a ventilated back panel. These are the details that make it interesting as an everyday outer layer, whether the day involves a campsite or a trip across town.

The pockets invite a practical question: which things would actually live in them? A phone, a folded map and a few small essentials are easier to organise when they each have a place. Filling every available pocket would change the way any light jacket hangs. Leaving some empty is an option.

## The details before ordering

At the 21 October check, Snow Peak's US store listed the jacket at **US$199.95**, with S–XL available in all three colours. Its fit is described as standard; the actual garment measurements are available on the product page. The care instructions are simple: cold wash and hang dry.

The published specifications do not establish a waterproof rating for this jacket. Its appeal is the pocket arrangement, the adjustable shape and the restrained fabric detail. For someone looking for an easy outer layer with a little more organisation, those are sensible reasons to look closer.
