abrAsus has added a Pueblo Leather Edition to its Travel Wallet, keeping the familiar folding layout while changing the surface you handle every day. The new edition launched on 21 October at ¥19,800 including Japanese tax.

The point of the Travel Wallet design is that notes, cards and coins can be seen together when it opens. It folds back into a small square afterwards. For anyone who still uses cash, that is an appealingly direct starting point: less searching between compartments, without pretending that coins have disappeared from everyday life.

A different surface, the same layout
According to the official release, the leather comes from Italian tannery Badalassi Carlo. Pueblo has a deliberately roughened, matt surface. abrAsus says that the raised texture settles with use and develops a deeper shine, with the colour changing too. That is the maker’s description of how the material ages, rather than a wear test of this new edition.

Petrolio, Terracotta, Navy and Napoli are the four colours. The release lists the folded wallet at approximately 94 × 94 × 17mm and 63g, with a cotton-oxford interior. The pocket layout remains that of the existing Travel Wallet, so this is a material update rather than an entirely new way of carrying money.

The large flap covers the contents while the wallet is held open. Official photographs also show the coin section opening broadly and the card stack sitting beside the notes. These are more useful details to consider than how much can be forced into it: a small wallet still has to work with the cash and cards its owner actually carries.

The Japanese product listing is live, and the launch announcement also names the brand’s Shinjuku, Osaka and Nagoya stores. The shop asks overseas customers to order through its international site; that does not establish this edition’s availability in every country.

There is a practical aftercare detail on the product page, too: abrAsus accepts repair enquiries for issues such as loose stitching and detached snaps. Cost and suitability need to be confirmed for the individual repair.
