Burgus Plus’ current HINOYA arrival puts Awa Shoai indigo into the 1928 Cinch-Back model. The 928-AI-01 pairs naturally dyed indigo warp yarn with an ecru weft in a pronounced, uneven 17oz cotton selvedge.

HINOYA describes a repeated vat-dyeing process associated with Tokushima, rather than the rope-dyed yarn commonly used for denim. The maker says the yarn is coloured through its core, so the resulting wear pattern should differ from familiar high-contrast vertical fading. That remains a maker explanation, not a result established by our own wear test.

The cut uses the roomy Lot. 928 shape, with limited taper and a buckle adjustment at the back. Black-painted buttons, pink-striped pocket bags and a gold-finished leather patch add smaller details. The photographs here show the Indigo x Natural 928-AI-01; the all-indigo 928-AI-02 is a different cloth option.

HINOYA’s US storefront listed this version at US$675 on 24 October, with several waist sizes selectable. The exact first-sale date is not confirmed, so this is coverage of the current arrival rather than a claim that it launched today. Destination taxes, shipping and final size availability require a fresh checkout check.
