The black N-1 is not a newly invented uniform jacket, but this precise lot has a fresh Japanese arrival. Toyo Enterprise dates lot BR16033, Buzz Rickson’s William Gibson Collection Type BLACK N-1, to 23 October 2026. The listed price is ¥107,800 including Japanese tax.
Unlike a generic N-1 reproduction, the William Gibson interpretation is deliberately blacked out, with an exterior of dark jungle-cloth-style fabric and a contrasting pile-lined collar.

What the official photographs establish
The exact-item gallery shows a storm placket, substantial zipper, cord adjustment at the hem, ribbed inner cuffs and dense brown pile around the neckline and interior. The maker describes the lining with alpaca, mohair and wool components, but the precise garment-label percentages, weight and care instructions need to be checked before translating that into performance claims.
The N-1 silhouette is associated with naval deck outerwear, yet this is a present-day clothing product, not a historic-surplus listing. A closer-fitting cut is a manufacturer positioning claim; fit must be verified from BR16033’s own chart, not another N-1 lot.

Arrival is not universal availability
The date refers to a Japanese store arrival, not proof of a first-ever 2026 design debut. Available sizes and overseas order options can change independently of that date. The model code matters especially here: other Buzz Rickson’s black N-1 and William Gibson jackets are not interchangeable in photography or specification.
