Foreign Rider has introduced its first selvedge denim collection: 350 pairs across three editions, made with Japanese cloth and cut and sewn in Los Angeles.
The release comprises Straight Fit Indigo/Indigo and Slim Fit Indigo/Indigo, with 150 pairs of each, plus a 50-pair Slim Fit Black/Indigo edition. The brand says the project took around 18 months to develop and that founder Ralph Dunning personally inspected, numbered and signed each pair during production.

We picked up the release through Philip Friedman’s 21 October report for Heddels. Foreign Rider’s own announcement confirms the first-run quantities and online and in-store availability.
The useful differences
Heddels identifies the cloth as 14oz, 100% cotton raw selvedge, with a red selvedge edge, brass rivets and a vegetable-tanned leather patch. Its report describes medium-rise fits, with a narrower silhouette for the slim versions. In the black edition, the combination is black warp with indigo weft, rather than an all-black fabric.

Those are the details worth comparing before the numbering on the patch. The decision is principally between a straighter leg and a slimmer one, then between the two fabric combinations.

Two October fitting dates remain
Dunning’s published store itinerary includes Salt Lake City on 24 October and Denver on 31 October. The Toronto stop was on 17 October and has already passed. The fitting dates are useful for readers near either US store; they are not the collection’s launch date.

The official release page is the starting point for the range and event details. Confirm current sizes, destination pricing and delivery before ordering.

Foreign Rider’s motorcycle background provides context, but this announcement does not establish that the jeans are certified protective riding clothing.
