HERZ opened orders for a limited suede collection on 9 October 2026, introducing 12 bag designs and nine smaller items in beige and dark brown.
The main leather is Sciarada’s Otterproof suede. Selected straps and other parts use Virgilio’s Smoked leather, giving the range a contrast between a soft, raised surface and smoother trim. HERZ describes the suede as thinner and softer than its familiar house leathers, allowing different shapes and constructions.

Bags—and smaller things
The official collection includes shoulder bags, backpacks, totes and compact leather goods. The Drape Shoulder, SUB-2604, is one of the more direct introductions to the new material. The range also includes coin cases, pouches and a small drawstring bag, so the launch is not confined to larger carry pieces.

The Drape Shoulder’s product listing gives a Japanese retail price of ¥18,700 including tax. That is a local listed price, not a delivered price for an overseas order.

The softer leather gives the range a different feel from HERZ’s familiar structured bags. It is the shapes and the way they carry—not simply a new colour—that distinguish this release.
How the release works
Online purchases are made to order. Participating Japanese stores primarily take orders too, although some items may be available from shop stock. HERZ says the allocation is limited and can close without advance notice; it has not given a fixed closing day.

The collection does not offer semi-custom specification changes. Check the individual item’s order status, lead time and overseas ordering arrangements before committing.

One detail is worth keeping straight: Otterproof is the leather’s name, not a promise that the finished bags are waterproof. The interest here is the material and the shapes it enables, not an untested weather-performance claim.
