HUF and Dickies keep their new collection centred on canvas

HUF and Dickies keep their new collection centred on canvas

A canvas jacket and a pair of generous trousers make a fairly uncomplicated starting point. That is where HUF and Dickies have put the centre of their latest collaboration, released in Japan on 16 October 2026.

The two main pieces are the Painter Jacket and Cargo Utility Pant. HUF specifies cotton canvas for both. The jacket adds padding and a contrasting collar, while the trousers use large side cargo pockets and smaller utility pockets to break up an otherwise straightforward shape.

The trousers deserve a closer look at the fitting-room stage. HUF describes a relatively compact rise and hip that opens into a wider leg. That distinction matters: a roomy hem tells only part of the story about how a pair of trousers will feel when sitting down or moving around.

Both pieces come in Natural, Brown, Pink and Camo. The Japanese launch prices are ¥34,980 for the jacket and ¥24,970 for the trousers, according to the official release. A thermal top and knitted beanie round out the collection.

Brown and Natural are the easy place to begin if these are joining an existing wardrobe of plain tees, boots and well-used bags. Pink takes the same workwear shapes somewhere more conspicuous. The choice is mostly about which version would actually leave the wardrobe often enough to become familiar.

Before buying, we would spend time on the trouser proportions and the jacket’s fit over a layer. Those are more useful things to settle than whether the two pieces need to be worn together.

HUF’s announcement lists its Japanese stores and online shop as the launch channels. Check the official collection for current sizes and colours; release-day availability does not establish what remains now.
