Converse Japan’s latest All Star Squaretoe replaces the familiar round-toed impression with a more angular front and a row of D-ring lace fittings. The black DR LE OX, released on 23 October, uses smooth leather and is priced at ¥20,900 including Japanese tax.

The shape comes from a dedicated square-toe last. Gloss on the toe cap and surrounding tape gives the shoe a dress-shoe reference, while the D-rings introduce a small outdoor-footwear cue. An orange spare lace offers a visible alternative to the standard black one.

Underfoot, Converse describes a combination of polyurethane cushioning, open-cell urethane and sponge rubber. That is the brand’s construction specification; this is release coverage rather than a comfort or wear test.

The official 31319220 listing showed selectable sizes on 24 October. This article and its photographs concern the smooth-leather black version, not the separate suede model released alongside it. Check Converse’s size information and the retailer serving your location before ordering: a Japanese launch does not establish availability in other markets.
