The shape begins with the Godfather-Anatomical last. Iron Boots describes a broad forefoot, a closer heel and moderate arch profile, taking cues from mid-century American service footwear. Those are the maker’s design intentions; they do not establish how the boot will fit an individual foot.

A three-piece bellows tongue is the other detail worth looking at. Separate side gussets fold behind the laces, while the central tongue retains more structure. Iron Boots specifies hand-welted construction, brass eyelets and a leather shank for this makeup.

Nick Turner covered the new Infantry releases in Stitchdown’s 16 October roundup. Our 24 October check found several D-width sizes available in the official Drop 8 listing, while size 11 and the MTO option were unavailable. Check the exact size before ordering; the different leather and sole specifications of Drop 9 should not be assumed to apply here.
